FAQ for Campus Network Connection
These systems are in Chinese. Names in Chinese below are exactly what you see on screen; the Glossary explains them.
“IP Address Error” or “IP Address Already Online”
- Check that your computer is set to “Obtain an IP address automatically” and “Obtain DNS server address automatically” (see Campus Network Service, section 5). If it already is, go on to step 2.
- Turn the network adapter off and on again, or disconnect and reconnect. If that does not help, go on to step 3.
- Open Start, type
cmdand press Enter. In the window, typeipconfig /releaseand press Enter, thenipconfig /renewand press Enter. - Sign in to the campus network as usual.
The Sign-In Page Does Not Open
Phones, tablets and laptops usually open the 校园网认证系统 sign-in page by themselves after joining campus Wi-Fi. If yours does not, clear the browser cache, or type 1.1.1.1 or 1.1.1.2 into a browser's address bar and press Enter.
If it still does not open, check the IP settings: on a computer, “Obtain an IP address automatically” and “Obtain DNS server address automatically”; on a phone, DHCP.
Do not use a bookmarked sign-in address.
Automatic Sign-In Fails
Automatic sign-in remembers your device by its MAC address. If your device uses a random MAC address (“Randomized MAC” or “Private Wi-Fi Address”) or runs software that changes it, the address changes every time and automatic sign-in fails. Turn that feature off for the campus Wi-Fi.
Devices Keep Getting Disconnected
Each account can have up to 3 devices online at the same time. To see and sign out devices, use 企业微信 → 工作台 → 校园网 → 我的在线, or selfaaa.whut.edu.cn (武汉理工大学自助服务平台) → 在线管理 → 我的在线, where 下线 signs a device out.
Proxies and Accelerators
Proxy services are not allowed on the campus network. If a VPN or game accelerator is running, you cannot connect to the campus network; turn it off first.
